Kishunen

…The gardens began as a gift from Emperor Kangxi to his son Yinzhen (later Emperor Yongzheng) in 1709 (48th year of the Kangxi era). From 25th year (3rd year of the Yongzheng era), the buildings equivalent to the outer court and inner bedroom of the imperial court were added, and the gardens were expanded. Emperor Qianlong also continued to add to the gardens, and in 51th year (16th year of the Qianlong era), Changchun Garden was added to the east of Yuanmingyuan, and in 72nd year, Qichun Garden (later renamed Wanchun Garden) was added to the southeast. The repairs during the Jiaqing era (1796-1820) used the finest fixtures from Yangzhou. …
