A Protestant educational corporation with its headquarters in Minato-ku, Tokyo. It has a junior high school, a high school, and a university. It began as the Hepburn School, which Hepburn opened in Yokohama in 1863. In 1887, it merged with Tokyo Unity Theological Seminary, founded by R. Brown, and became Meiji Gakuin. In 1903, it opened a technical school, and in 1949, the new Meiji Gakuin University.
