Husky voice

Husky voice
A hoarse or rough voice. Jazz vocals do not use vocal techniques used in classical singing, and it is believed that a more shaded voice, closer to the way black people speak in everyday conversation, is better suited to expressing nuances than a clear, resonant voice. The husky voice is an extreme example of this. The popularity of the husky voice is due to the fact that white people have begun to adopt the singing style used by blacks in blues and other genres, and that the development of microphones and recording technology has made it possible for any voice to reach the ears of the audience.
