Ballet music composed by Tchaikovsky. Lebedinoe ozero. Based on a medieval German legend, with a libretto by VP Begichev and V. Goertzel (the outline is said to have been created by Tchaikovsky himself), choreography by Wenzher Reisinger (1828-1892), it premiered in 1877 at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. However, it was not well received at the time, and after the composer's death, it was revived in 1895 at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg with choreography by Petipa and LI Ivanov, and was a great success. Petipa significantly revised the libretto, and the leading roles of the White Swan (Odette) and the Black Swan (Odile) were danced by the famous Italian ballerina Pierina Legnani (1863-1923). There is also a famous episode in which Legnani astonished the audience with 32 fouettes in the third act as Odile. There have been various subsequent productions of this piece, but the most notable is the 1953 production by VP Bourmeister (1904-1971), which faithfully revived Tchaikovsky's original score. In Japan, it was performed for a long time in 1946, shortly after the end of the war, by the Tokyo Ballet (a different organization from the current ballet company of the same name) led by Masahide Komaki, and this built a major foundation for the development of the Japanese ballet world. Excerpts from the piece are also performed as an orchestral suite. → Related items Ulanova | Yaoko Kaitani | Momoko Tani | Tutu | Neumeier | Fontaine | Polonaise | Yoko Morishita | Royal Ballet Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
《Lebedinoe ozero》。
