An evergreen shrub of the Saxifragaceae family. It is also called Erica pseudo-flower because its leaves and shape resemble those of Erica, but there is no relation between the two. Florists sometimes refer to it as "love hairpin." The flowers are 1.5-2cm in diameter, have around eight petals, and are pale pink or white with a purplish tint. They hang down like a hairpin. They are native to Australia and Tasmania. The branches are thin and slightly sideways. They grow to about 50cm in height, but can grow to 2m in their native habitat. The leaves are small, about 1cm long, deeply divided into three lobes, each of which is oblong and has serrated edges. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
