[1] 〘 noun 〙① A passenger ship that charges a set fare and carries many passengers on a set route. With the development of a national transportation network in the early modern period, many ships were put into service between major rivers and ports in the Seto Inland Sea, centering on large cities such as Osaka. Representative river ships include the 30-koku ship on the Yodo River, and sea ships include the Shimonoseki Tokai and Konpira ships. Originally titled "Kashiraga Kiise Monogatari (The Tale of the Fragrant Tree Ise) ," it features a dialogue between Tokiwazu, Tomimoto, Takemoto, and Nagauta. In early spring, Manzai, Saizō, a shrine maiden, a sake seller, a carpenter , a connoisseur, and a female boatman all ride along on a boat on the Sumida River, and perform various arts in the guise of the Seven Gods of Fortune. [1] 〘名〙① 規定の運賃をとり、多くの旅客を乗せて所定の航路を往復する客船。近世の全国的交通網の発展で、主要河川や大坂などの大都市を中心とする瀬戸内諸港間に多く就航したが、河川用では淀川の三十石船、海船では下関渡海や金毘羅船などが代表的なもの。乗合。※浮世草子・好色五人女(1686)一「十人よれば十国の者、乗合(ノリアイ)船こそおかしけれ」② 二人以上の荷主の荷物を積んだ運賃積の船。積合船。※大坂船漂着記(1849)「此度乗合船之儀は、大坂表荒荷積船に御座候に付、船中へ積入之荷品調」③ 「ひきふね(引舟)(一)④」の戯称。※雑俳・柳多留‐六五(1814)「安芝居乗合船に日をくらし」[2] 歌舞伎所作事。常磐津。三世桜田治助作詞。五世岸沢式佐作曲。西川巳之助ら振付。本名題「乗合船恵方万歳(のりあいぶねえほうまんざい)」。天保一四年(一八四三)江戸市村座初演。元来は「魁香樹いせ物語(かしらがきいせものがたり)」の名題で、常磐津・富本・竹本・長唄の掛け合い。初春の隅田川の船に乗り合わせた万歳・才蔵・巫女(みこ)・白酒売り・大工・通人・女船頭が七福神の見立てで、芸づくしをする。常磐津の代表曲。
