A shamisen player of Gidayubushi. Also called Kihachi. (1) First generation (?-1727 (Kyoho 12)) A student of Takezawa Gon'emon. His stage name was derived from his name Nozawaya Kihachi when he ran an umbrella shop. He is the originator of the Nozawa family name and played Toyotake Ueno Shōjō (Toyotake Wakadayū). (2) Second generation (?-1755 (Hōreki 5)) A student of the first generation. He played Toyotake Echizen Shōjō at the Toyotake Theater, and in 1749 (Kan'en 2) he moved to the Takemoto Theater and played Takemoto Yamatojō. He was the first to have a joint shamisen name listed on the ranking list. (3) Third generation Years of birth and death unknown. 義太夫節の三味線演奏者。喜八ともいう。(1)初世(?‐1727(享保12)ころ) 竹沢権右衛門門下。傘屋を営んでいたときの名前野沢屋喜八にちなむ芸名。野沢姓の祖で,豊竹上野少掾(豊竹若太夫)を弾く。(2)2世(?‐1755(宝暦5)) 初世門下。豊竹座で豊竹越前少掾を,1749年(寛延2)竹本座に移って竹本大和掾を弾く。番付に三味線連名を初めて掲げさせた。(3)3世 生没年不詳。2世門下で,喜吉,2世吉五郎から3世をつぐ。
