Ra's al-Khayma (English spelling)

Japanese: ラス･アルハイマ（英語表記）Ra’s al‐Khayma

A member state of the United Arab Emirates, located in the eastern part of the Arabian Peninsula and facing the Persian Gulf. Also written as Ras al-Khaimah or Ras al-Khaimah. Area 1,700 ^km2 , population 150,000 (1996). Comprised of mountainous areas, coastal areas, and islands, it has a varied topography, rare within the federation. It has the highest average annual precipitation of 150 mm, and good quality water is available in the mountains. Arable land spreads between the mountains and the coast. It has the largest arable land area in the federation, and has a large agricultural population. In addition to fruit trees such as dates, watermelons, and tomatoes, and vegetables, the state also raises livestock such as sheep, goats, and cows.
