Iheiju

A calligrapher from the mid-Qing Dynasty of China. Born in Ninghua, Fujian Province. Son of Chaodong, who became the Lord of the Temple. His pen name was Zuni, and his pen names were Moqing and Nanquan. In 1789 (54th year of the Qianlong era), he passed the Jinshi examination, was appointed as the head of the Ministry of Justice, and moved to the Inwairang ranks. In 1798 (3rd year of the Jiaqing era), he became the deputy inspector of the Hunan Province Township Examination, and later served as the governor of Huizhou and Yangzhou in Guangdong. He was educated by his family and from a young age he was a scholar of Song and Taoism, and he maintained this spirit in his public and private life as well as in literature and the arts. He was a disciple of Liu Yong and was skilled in the literary and cursive calligraphy of servants, but he was the best at Chinese servants, and created the servants' style, which is composed of linear, square shapes without any waves. His work is renowned for its large scale and unique style of eccentricity. He is the author of "Ryushunsodoshu."

中国清(しん)時代中期の書家。福建省寧化の人。光禄寺卿(こうろくじけい)に至った朝棟の子。字(あざな)は組似、号は墨卿、南泉。1789年(乾隆54)進士に合格、刑部主事を授けられ、員外郎に移り、98年(嘉慶3)湖南省の郷試副考官、のち広東恵州や揚州の知府を歴任した。家学を受け、若年より宋(そう)学者、道学者として身を持し、公私の生活はもとより文学芸術に至るまで、その精神を貫いた。書は劉墉(りゅうよう)の弟子で隷(れい)行草に長じたが、もっとも漢隷をよくし、波勢のない、直線的に四角く構成する隷法を創始した。スケールの大きさ、その特異な超逸の風格が世にうたわれている。『留春草堂集』の著がある。
