Negligee - negligé (English spelling) French

Primarily a dressing and indoor wear for women. Originally, negligee was a long, loose-fitting one-piece garment derived from the French verb meaning "not to care" or "not to be concerned," and meant casual, informal wear for both men and women. In Japan, it is used as a word to refer to one-piece nightwear. They range from practical to elaborate designs decorated with frills and lace, and are made from soft, thin materials such as cotton, synthetic fibers, and silk. In English, it is also spelled negligee.
