Night sweats - nease

Also known as night sweats, they refer to sweating during sleep. While it can be a physiological phenomenon, it has long been known as a symptom of tuberculosis patients, in which the patient sweats so much that they have to change their nightwear several times throughout the night. This is said to be due to tuberculosis toxins causing abnormalities in the functioning of the vascular nervous system, and is usually accompanied by fatigue and weakness.

盗汗(とうかん)ともよばれ、睡眠中の発汗を意味する。生理的な現象である場合もあるが、昔から結核病患者の症状として知られており、この場合は、一晩に何回も寝巻をかえなければならないような多量の発汗がある。これは、結核菌毒素が血管神経系の機能に異常を与えるためといわれており、疲労感、衰弱感を伴うのが常である。
