The genus Phacelia , part of the Phaceliaceae family, is a genus of around 100 species of monoennial to perennial herbs endemic to the Americas, but of these, several species native to western North America with beautiful flowers are cultivated as garden plants under the name Phacelia. All of them are annual or biennial herbs that flower from late spring to summer. Phacelia campanularia (P. campanularia A. Gray) is 30cm tall, branches near the ground and spreads out somewhat horizontally. The leaves are oval with tooth-like notches. In late spring, it produces clusters of bell-shaped, deep cobalt-colored flowers. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
