Neagari [town] - Neagari
An old town in Nomi County in southern Ishikawa Prefecture. It occupies the left bank of the mouth of the Tedori River and is served by the Hokuriku Main Line. Rice and vegetable cultivation are thriving here. It is a center for the production of silk and rayon textiles, and is also home to iron and chemical industries. Kaga-Maiko and Ko-Maiko are beaches. In February 2005, it merged with Terai-cho and Tatsunokuchi-cho in Nomi County to become a city, forming Nomi City. Area: 13.57 km2 . Population: 16,253 (2003).
