Nhan Dan - Nyanzan (English spelling)

Vietnam's leading daily national newspaper. The name of the paper means "people". Under the title, it says "The voice of the Party, the nation and the people of Vietnam". It is the organ of the Vietnam Workers' Party (now the Communist Party), and the first issue was published in 1951 during the war of independence against France in the liberated areas along the Chinese border. It has played an important role as the party's press and propaganda organ throughout modern Vietnamese history, including the war of independence against France, the Vietnamese war of independence, and the liberation of South Vietnam. Even after liberation in 1975, it has had a great influence, such as through the campaign to purge party discipline through the paper. The majority of its readers are government officials and party members. In addition to pages on culture, sports, and entertainment, in response to the Doi Moi (reform) policy that began in 1986, it has a reader's voice and opinion column in the paper, where issues such as the eradication of corruption are raised. It has also been online since 1998, and has an English version. The front and back pages have been in color since 2007. The head office is in Hanoi.

ベトナムの代表的日刊全国紙。紙名は「人民」の意。題字の下には、「ベトナムの党、国家、人民の声」とある。ベトナム労働党（現共産党）の機関紙で、フランスに対する独立戦争中の1951年、中国国境沿いの解放区で第1号を刊行。対仏独立戦争、ベトナム独立戦争、南ベトナム解放というベトナム現代史を通じ、党の報道・宣伝機関として重要な役割を果たしてきた。1975年の解放後も、党規粛正のキャンペーンが同紙を通じて行われるなど大きな影響力をもつ。読者の中心は政府関係者や党員が占める。文化、スポーツ、娯楽のページのほか、1986年からのドイモイ（刷新）政策をうけ、紙面に読者の声、意見の欄を設け、汚職撲滅などの問題提起も行われている。1998年からオンライン新聞も開始し、英語版もある。2007年から1面と終面をカラー化した。本社はハノイ。
