A record of lectures on the Nihon Shoki held at the Imperial Court from the Nara to early Heian periods. Also known as the Nihon Shoki Private Records. It is known that lectures on the Nihon Shoki were held seven times since the first in 721 (Yoro 5) after the completion of the Shoki, and each time a doctor wrote a private record. Today, only four volumes remain, along with some annotated fragments in the Shaku Nihongi and other works, and the contents are mostly Japanese readings of the main text. Included in the Shin-Taishu Zoho Kokushi Taikei. [Aoki Kazuo] Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
