A town in Kurokawa County, central Miyagi Prefecture. It borders Sendai City to the north. Tomiya, in the center, was a former post town on the Oshu Kaido road. Most of the area is hilly, and rice is the main agricultural crop. In recent years, the town has been developed into a residential area on the outskirts of Sendai City. 宮城県中部，黒川郡の町。仙台市の北に隣接する。中心の富谷は奥州街道の旧宿場町。大部分が丘陵地で，農業は米作を主体とする。近年は，仙台市の近郊住宅都市化が進む。東日本大震災で，町内において被害が発生。49.18km2。４万7042人（2010）。
