A town in Kurokawa County, central Miyagi Prefecture. It borders Sendai City to the north. Tomiya, in the center, was a former post town on the Oshu Kaido road. Most of the area is hilly, and rice is the main agricultural crop. In recent years, the town has been developed into a residential area on the outskirts of Sendai City.
