Law of double negation

Japanese: 二重否定律 - にじゅうひていりつ（英語表記）law of double negation

This law states that the double negation of a proposition p gives the proposition itself, and has been counted as one of the principles of logic. If the negation of the negation of p does not equal the affirmation of p , then there must be an intermediate state between the negation of p and the affirmation of p , and the law of the excluded middle, which does not acknowledge the existence of such an intermediate state, makes the same point. Therefore, along with the law of the excluded middle, it is considered to characterize the traditional system of logic. [Oide Akira]
