Barrymore family - Barrymore family

An American family of actors. Born to British actor Maurice Barrymore (1847-1905) and American actress Georgiana Emma Drew (1856-93), they had three children who were particularly well-known in the United States. The eldest son, Lionel Barrymore (1878-1954), appeared on stage as a boy and became a popular actor, but gradually began to concentrate on film work, and continued to do so from 1925 onwards. アメリカの俳優一家。イギリス俳優モーリス･バリモアMaurice Barrymore(1847‐1905)とアメリカの女優ジョージアーナ･エマ･ドルーGeorgiana Emma Drew(1856‐93)との間に生まれ，アメリカで活躍した3人の子がとくに有名である。長男ライオネルLionel Barrymore(1878‐1954)は少年時代から舞台に立ち，人気俳優となったが，しだいに映画の仕事に集中するようになり，1925年以後はそれに専念した。
