(「にじゅうはちぶしゅ」とも) 千手観音の眷属で、真言陀羅尼の誦持者を守護する二八人の善神の総称。一般に密迹金剛士・烏芻君荼央倶尸・摩醯那羅延・金毘羅陀迦毘羅・姿婆楼那・満善車鉢真陀羅・薩遮摩和羅・鳩蘭単吒半祇羅・畢婆伽羅王・応徳毘多薩和羅・梵摩三鉢羅・五部浄居炎摩羅・釈王三十三・大弁功徳天・提頭頼吒王・神母女等大力衆・毘楼勒叉・毘楼博叉・毘沙門天・金色孔雀王・二十八部大仙衆・摩尼跋陀羅・散脂大将弗羅婆・難陀跋難陀・大身阿修羅・水火雷電神・鳩槃荼王・毘舎闍などの各神。神名は必ずしも一定しない。二十八部者。※中院本平家(13C前)二「龍神は廿八ぶしゅの其一なれば」
