Nicholas [II] - Nicholas

Japanese: ニコライ[2世] - ニコライ
Nicholas [II] - Nicholas
The last emperor of Imperial Russia (reigned 1894-1917). Son of Alexander III. When he was still Crown Prince, he came to Japan in 1891 and witnessed the Otsu Incident. From the beginning of his reign, the social situation was unsettled, but he enforced autocratic rule. The influence of the Empress and Rasputin was strong. He forced an advance into the Far East, but was defeated in the Russo-Japanese War, which led to the First Russian Revolution and Bloody Sunday. He abdicated in 1917 due to the Second Russian Revolution at the end of World War I, and was executed along with his family while imprisoned in Ekaterinburg.
