Southern [town] - Nanbu
A town in Sannohe County in the southeastern part of Aomori Prefecture. It is located in the middle reaches of the Mabechi River, and is served by the Aoimori Railway. Fruit cultivation, including apples and grapes, is popular. The town also produces rice. It is known for its edible chrysanthemums, known as Abō-miya. In January 2006, the town was incorporated with Nagawa Town and Fukuchi Village in Sannohe County, and the town hall became the former Fukuchi Village Hall. The town sustained damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake. Area: 153.12 km2 . Population: 19,853 (2010).

Nanbu [town] [Nanbu]

A town in Minamikoma County in the southernmost part of Yamanashi Prefecture. It straddles both banks of the Fuji River and is served by the Minobu Line. Most of the town is mountainous, producing cedar and cypress trees. Tea is also cultivated. There are factories manufacturing petroleum products and pharmaceuticals, and the town has strong ties with Shizuoka Prefecture. In March 2003, Tomizawa Town was incorporated and the town hall became the former Tomizawa Town Hall. Area: 200.87 km2 . Population: 9,011 (2010).

Southern part [town] [Minabe]

An old town in Hidaka district facing the Pacific Ocean in central Wakayama prefecture. It occupies the lower reaches of the Nanbu River and produces rice, beans and flowers (persimmons). The hills are part of the Nanbu plum grove, and are a specialty of the town, producing pickled plums. The town is served by the Kisei Main Line and the Hanwa Expressway. In October 2004, it merged with Nanbukawa village in Hidaka district to form Minabe town in Hidaka district. Area: 26.08 km2 . Population: 8,239 (2003).

Nanbu [town] [Nanbu]

A town in Saihaku District, located in the western part of Tottori Prefecture. In October 2004, Aimi Town and Saihaku Town in Saihaku District merged to form a town. National Route 180 runs through it. Area: 114.03 km2 . Population: 11,536 (2010).

山梨県最南部,南巨摩(みなみこま)郡の町。富士川両岸にまたがり,身延(みのぶ)線が通じる。大部分は山地でスギ,ヒノキなどを産する。茶の栽培も行う。石油製品,医薬品製造などの工場があり,静岡県とのつながりも深い。2003年3月,富沢町を編入し,町役場を旧富沢町役場とした。200.87km2。9011人(2010)。

和歌山県中部,太平洋に臨む日高郡の旧町。南部川下流域を占め,米,豆類,花卉(かき)を産する。丘陵部は南部梅林の一部で,梅干を特産。紀勢本線,阪和自動車道が通じる。2004年10月日高郡南部川村と合併し,日高郡みなべ町となる。26.08km2。8239人(2003)。
