A former town in Saihaku District, western Tottori Prefecture. Occupying the northern foot of Mt. Daisen and the plains of the Japan Sea coast, the town cultivates Nijisseiki pears, raises dairy cows, and raises pigs. Its center is Mikuriya, where the Sanin Main Line runs. Nawa Shrine, which has long been associated with Nawa, is a famous cherry blossom spot.
