A life annuity system in which, when an investor dies, the right to receive the pension is transferred to the surviving investor. The longer you live, the larger the pension you can receive. It was practiced in Europe in the 17th and 18th centuries. The name comes from Lorenzo de Tonti, an Italian banker who proposed this method to King Louis XIV of France in the 17th century.

２低解約返戻金型の個人終身年金保険のこと。解約時や死亡時の返戻金を低く設定することで、年金原資を増やし、長生きする加入者に支払う年金を確保する仕組み。生きている間ずっと年金を受け取れるが、一定の年齢を超えないと、受取総額が支払総額を大きく下回るリスクがある。
