A series of minimum inhibitory concentrations of antibiotics and other antibacterial drugs against various microorganisms, usually arranged in order according to the classification system of microorganisms. It can also refer to a series of microorganisms for which antibiotics are effective. Antibiotics that are effective against a wide range of microorganisms are called broad-spectrum antibiotics. 抗生物質をはじめとする抗菌薬の種々の微生物に対する最低発育阻止濃度を系列化したもので，普通，微生物の分類体系に沿って並列する。また，抗生物質が有効な微生物に印を付けた系列を意味することもある。特に広範囲の多種の微生物に有効なものを広域抗菌スペクトルをもつ抗生物質という。たとえばグラム陽性菌，グラム陰性菌やリケッチアにも作用するテトラサイクリン類はこれに属する。→化学療法
