Year of death: 17 January 1625 (23 February 1625) Year of birth: Around 1568 (Eiroku 11) Lord of Inuyama Castle in Owari Province (Inuyama City, Aichi Prefecture) in the early Edo period. Attached chief retainer of the Owari Tokugawa family. Born in Mikawa Province (Aichi Prefecture). Nicknamed Koyoshi, he was appointed Hayatomasa. His father was Shoichi. He served Tokugawa Ieyasu from an early age and became a page. Toyotomi Hideyoshi asked him to return to the Tokugawa family, but he refused. After the Battle of Sekigahara, he became the magistrate of Sakai. He then became a close aide to Ieyasu in Sunpu and participated in the Shogunate government as a Toshiyori. In 1607, he became the guardian of Ieyasu's ninth son, Yoshinao, but continued to serve as a Toshiyori. In 1617, he became an attached chief retainer, and in 1617, he moved to Owari and was given a fief of 30,000 koku.
