Jabal al-Nabī Shu'ayb (mountain)

Japanese: ナビー･シュアイブ[山]（英語表記）Jabal al‐Nabī Shu‘ayb

Located in the Bani Matar district of Sana'a province in western Yemen, this mountain has an elevation of 3,760m. It is the highest peak on the Arabian Peninsula. It is a high peak on a plateau that continues from the Asir Mountains of Saudi Arabia, and the area is dotted with high mountains of 3,000m or higher. The plateau stretches from north to south, forming the Tihama Plain that stretches to the coastline in the west, and a plain that continues to the Rub' al-Khali Desert in the east. Farming is practiced at the foot of the mountain, with terraced fields that continue up to the peak, where khat (a tea plant with anesthetic properties) and other plants are cultivated.
