Nataraja (English spelling)

Japanese: ナタラージャ（英語表記）Naṭarāja

It means "King of Dance". It is also the name and statue of the Hindu god Shiva. Shiva's activities are said to be strong and intense, and are connected to the rhythm of the universe, and Nataraja is a symbolic expression of this. Shiva's dance has 108 poses, which are classified into nine types, and each symbolizes Shiva's functions, such as the creation, maintenance, destruction, illusion, and liberation of the universe. Among the remains, the sculptures in the Ellora Caves and the Elephanta Caves are known as masterpieces, and there are also many excellent bronze sculptures in South India.
