…a family of German organ and keyboard instrument makers. (1)Andreas (1678-1734) After studying in Görlitz, Strassburg (now Strasbourg), and under A. Thierry in Paris, he settled in Strassburg and built 34 organs, including the Strassburg Cathedral (three manuals, 39 stops), Colmar, Rosheim, and others. The organs at the monasteries of Ebersmünster and Marmoutier are considered his masterpieces and are still in good condition. …
