Lullaby of Akagi - Akagi no Komoriuta
A popular song. Lyrics by Sato Sounosuke, music by Takeoka Nobuyuki. The theme song for the 1934 Shochiku film "Asataro Akagi no Yama." The film depicts Kunisada Chuji and his subordinate Itawari Asataro, who are hiding out on Mount Akagi. The theme song, sung by Shoji Taro, who became a singer in middle age and joined Polydor, became a huge hit. It has been sung to this day since the record was released in February of the same year. With this song, Shoji Taro solidified his position as a record singer. [Yano Seiichi]

歌謡曲。作詞佐藤惣之助,作曲竹岡信幸。1934年の松竹映画《浅太郎赤城の山》の主題歌。この映画は,赤城山に潜伏中の国定忠治と子分の板割浅太郎を描いた映画だが,中年から歌手となってポリドール入りした東海林(しようじ)太郎が歌った主題歌が大ヒットした。同年2月のレコード発売以来今日まで歌われつづけている。東海林太郎はこの曲によって,レコード歌手としての地位を不動のものとした。【矢野 誠一】
