This is an enlightening book about hōirebana in Ikebana. It was published in 1684 (Jokyo 1). It consists of three volumes, each with a table of contents at the beginning. There is a theory that the author was Juuichiya Taemon, but there is no definite proof, and it is certain that he was a Tachibana master. The first volume describes the origin and characteristics of hōirebana. There are two theories about hōirebana: one is that it originated from flowers used in the tea ceremony, and the other is that it is a simplified version of Tachibana (Ritsuka). The author, a Tachibana master, supports the latter theory. The middle volume explains the relationship between vases and hōirebana, and the third volume focuses on how to raise flowers in water, listing the names of flowers, and contains descriptions that read like a dictionary of flower materials.
