Nakahara clan

The family name was Tochi no Sukune, and their ancestor was Dazai no Shoten Katsuyoshi. Katsuyoshi's grandson Arikata is listed as University Doctor Tochi no Sukune in the Ruiju Fusensho from 965 (Kōhō 2) to 967. It was during Arikata's time that he was given the Nakahara clan title, and in 974 (Ten'en 2) he was given the title of Ason. Arikata and his father Harumune both became Shogeki (junior external officials), and Arikata's son Munetoki became Daigeki (major external officials). Alongside the Kiyohara clan, they passed on the family teachings as a Myōgyōdō doctoral family, and also formed a so-called kyokumikae (official office) family. At the beginning of the Northern and Southern Court period, it was not until Moromori, the second son of the Daigaiki Morosuke, that the family was given the name Oshikōji, but even in the main line, from the time of the Daigaiki Morotomi in the mid-Muromachi period, the family also took the name Oshikōji, and their descendants inherited the Daigaiki position for a long time, and together with the Mibu family, they were called the Ryotoku. There are important historical documents from the Northern and Southern Court period, such as the "Moromori-ki," and successive family job diaries throughout the Edo period.

本姓は十市宿禰(とおちのすくね)で、大宰少典(だざいのしょうてん)勝良(かつよし)を祖とする。勝良の孫有象(ありかた)は965年（康保2）から967年にかけて『類聚符宣抄(るいじゅうふせんしょう)』に大学博士(はかせ)十市宿禰とある。有象のとき初めて中原氏を賜り、974年（天延2）朝臣(あそん)を賜った。有象および父春宗(はるむね)はともに少外記(しょうげき)となり、有象の子致時(むねとき)は大外記となり、清原氏と並んで明経道(みょうぎょうどう)の博士家として家学を伝え、またいわゆる局務家として一家をなした。南北朝時代の初め、大外記師右(もろすけ)の二男師守(もろもり)に至って初めて押小路(おしこうじ)を称したが、嫡流にあっても室町時代中期、大外記師富(もろとみ)のころから同じく押小路を称し、子孫は長く大外記職を世襲して、壬生(みぶ)家とともに両局と称された。南北朝期の重要史料『師守記』をはじめ、江戸時代を通じての歴代の家職日記がある。
