Japanese: 中野[市] - なかの

A city in the northeast of Nagano Prefecture, at the northern end of the Nagano Basin. It was incorporated as a city in 1954. Nakano, in the center, is a commercial district with Yamanouchi Onsenkyo and Shiga Kogen as its hinterland, and is served by the Nagano Electric Railway. The alluvial fan of the Yomase River produces peaches, Kyoho grapes, and apples. In 1995, the Joshinetsu Expressway was opened from Suzaka, and this led to the development of housing and industrial parks, with industries such as electrical equipment, food, and precision equipment moving in. In April 2005, Toyoda Village in Shimominochi County was incorporated. 112.18 ^km2 . Population: 45,638 (2010).

長野県北東部，長野盆地北端の市。1954年市制。中心の中野は山ノ内温泉郷および志賀高原を後背地とする商業地区で，長野電鉄が通じる。夜間瀬(よませ)川の扇状地でモモ，巨峰ブドウ，リンゴを特産。1995年上信越自動車道が須坂から開通，これを機に住宅団地，工業団地が造成され，電気機器，食品，精密機器などの工業が進出している。2005年４月下水内郡豊田村を編入。112.18km²。４万5638人（2010）。
