This is a collection of records centered on Edo from the late Edo period to the end of the Tokugawa Shogunate. There are 150 volumes and 152 books in manuscript at the Tokyo Metropolitan Archives. The editor and author, Fujiokaya Yoshizo (surnamed Sudo), is a secondhand book dealer in Kanda. The diary includes records related to the Shogunate's politics from 1804 to 1868, as well as incidents, disasters, rumors, and rakushu (deaths made in the city) in chronological order, providing insight into the social conditions of the time. It has been published as "Fujiokaya Diary: A Historical Source on the Lives of the Common People in the Early Modern Period."

江戸時代後期から幕末の江戸を中心とする記録集。東京都公文書館に写本150巻152冊が現存する。編著者の藤岡屋由蔵（須藤姓）は神田の古本商。1804年から1868年に至るまでの幕府政治関係の諸記録をはじめ，市中の事件や災害，風評，落首などが編年で記され，当時の世相が知られる。《近世庶民生活史料　藤岡屋日記》として刊行されている。
