A cape jutting out from the center of the coast of Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture. It is the legendary site of Nitta Yoshisada's wading, and is a nationally designated historic site. There is an Enoshima Electric Railway station, and buses run from Kamakura Station and Odakyu Electric Railway Katase Enoshima Station. The cape separates Yuigahama and Shichirigahama, and is a scenic spot with a panoramic view of Sagami Bay. This coast has been a transportation route since ancient times, and in the Kamakura period it was the main entrance to Kamakura and was once the western site of the Shikyo Festival, but it was known as a difficult route due to strong winds and waves. When Nitta Yoshisada attacked the Hojo clan in Kamakura during the Genkō Incident (1331), he was unable to break through the strong defenses of Gokurakuji Kiridoshi, which was his western attack point, so he threw the golden sword he was carrying into the sea from the top of the cliffs at Inamuragasaki, prayed to the dragon god for the tide to go out, and then attacked along the shore in one fell swoop. The high ground on the west side of the cape is now a park, and there is a monument to Nitta Yoshisada and a monument to the boat accident of the Zushi Kaisei Junior High School students, known for the song "Mashiroki Fuji no Ne."
