Japanese: 井波[町] - いなみ

A former town in Higashitonami County in western Toyama Prefecture. The main settlement at the southern end of the Tonami Plain developed as a temple town for the Shinshu Zuisenji Temple, and is a thriving industry for the manufacture of Buddhist altar implements, wood carvings (such as transoms), and spinning. Takase Shrine, the number one shrine in Etchu Province, is located in the western part of the city. In November 2004, it merged with Johana Town, Taira Village, Kamitaira Village, Toga Village, Iguchi Village, Fukuno Town in Higashitonami County, and Fukumitsu Town in Nishitonami County to become a city, Nanto City. ^{26.20 km2} . 富山県西部，東砺波(ひがしとなみ)郡の旧町。砺波平野南端にある主集落は真宗瑞泉寺の門前町として発達，仏具・木彫（欄間など）製造，紡績が盛ん。西部に越中国一の宮高瀬神社がある。2004年11月東礪波郡城端町，平村，上平村，利賀村，井口村，福野町，西礪波郡福光町と合併し市制，南砺市となる。26.20km²。１万183人（2003）。
