Okimi [town] - Okimi
A former town in Saiki District, in the southwest of Hiroshima Prefecture, on the west side of Nomi Island. The town mainly grows flowers, citrus fruits and vegetables. It also operates coastal fishing, dried sardine production, oyster farming and quarrying of hanakou rock. The number of people commuting to Hiroshima City is increasing. In November 2004, it merged with Etajima Town in Aki District, Nomi Town in Saiki District and Osaki Town to become a city, Etajima City. 27.57 km2 . 4,119 people (2003).
