… Granite bodies are classified into two types: those that intrude harmoniously with the structure of the surrounding rocks, and those that intrude discordantly with the structure of the surrounding rocks. Buddington (1959) argued that there is a close relationship between the shape and properties of granite bodies and the properties of the surrounding rocks, and that the properties and appearance of granite correspond to the depth at which it was formed.
