An endorsement made to the effect that the endorser exercises the rights on a bill (check). This endorsement is made by adding the words "for collection," "for collection," "for agency," or other words indicating the delegation of collection (Bills Law 18, Article 77, Paragraph 1, Item 1, Check Law 23). This is called an open endorsement of delegation of collection, whereas a hidden endorsement of delegation of collection is made for the purpose of delegation of collection, even though it takes the form of a normal transfer endorsement. Unlike an open endorsement of delegation of collection, the endorsee can exercise the rights on the bill in his own name. It is understood that the debtor of the bill can counter this exercise of rights with a defense against the endorser, and can also counter with a defense against the endorsee. With a hidden endorsement of delegation of collection, if the endorser goes bankrupt, the bill belongs to the bankrupt estate, and if the endorsee goes bankrupt, the endorser has the right of recovery.

裏書人の有する手形 (小切手) 上の権利を行使させるため，その旨を付記してなす裏書。この裏書は，「回収のため」「取立のため」「代理のため」その他取立委任を示す文言を付記することによって行われる (手形法 18，77条1項1号，小切手法 23) 。これを公然の取立委任裏書というのに対し，通常の譲渡裏書の形式をとりながらも，それが取立委任の目的のためになされる場合を隠れたる取立委任裏書という。これは公然の取立委任裏書と異なり，被裏書人は，自己の名をもって手形上の権利を行使することができる。この権利行使に対し，手形債務者は，裏書人に対する抗弁をもって対抗することができ，また，被裏書人に対する抗弁をもって対抗することもできると理解されている。隠れたる取立委任裏書は裏書人が破産した場合，手形は破産財団に属し，被裏書人が破産した場合は，裏書人は取戻権を有する。
