When wearing a keitaiji

A meridian is drawn on the surface of the Earth that differs from Greenwich mean solar time (universal time) by an integer number of hours, and the area bounded by meridians on either side of this meridian that is 30 minutes (7.5 degrees) wide is called a time zone, and the mean solar time relative to the central meridian of each time zone is called the longitudinal time of that time zone. For example, in the time zone bounded by meridians 22.5 degrees east and 37.5 degrees east, the longitudinal time is 2 o'clock. The longitudinal time is used on ships.

地球の表面にグリニジ平均太陽時（世界時）と整数時だけ違う子午線をとり、この子午線の両側に30分（7.5度）の幅にある子午線で囲まれた地域を時刻帯と称し、各時刻帯の中央子午線に対する平均太陽時をその時刻帯の経帯時とよぶ。たとえば東経22.5度と37.5度の子午線で囲まれた時刻帯では経帯時は2時である。経帯時は艦船で使用する。
