Land register - Tochigi Prefecture

Japanese: 土地台帳 - とちだいちょう

A book that clarifies the status of land and records the information necessary for imposing land tax. For each plot or each lot (→lot), the land number, land use, grade, assessed value, owner's name, etc. were recorded. After the Meiji government's land tax reform, it took seven years from 1874 to complete the book for the whole country. After World War II, the book was revised to a new format by the Land Register Law enacted in 1947, but in 1960 the law was abolished and the information recorded in the land register was transferred to the title section (→Registry Record) of the Real Estate Register (→Registry Book), so today it is replaced by the Real Estate Register.

土地の状況を明確にし，地租を課するために必要な事項を記載した帳簿。1区画または 1筆（→筆）ごとに，地番，地目，等級，評価額，所有者名などが記入されていた。明治政府による地租改正後，1874年から 7年間を費やして全国にわたって完成された。第2次世界大戦後，1947年制定の土地台帳法によって新しい形式に改められたが，1960年に同法が廃止され，土地台帳の記載事項を不動産登記簿（→登記簿）の表題部（→登記記録）に移記することとしたため，今日では不動産登記簿がそれに代わっている。
