Died in 1855. Swedish diplomat and historian in Berlin. Of Armenian descent. Wrote "Histoire des Mongols, depuis TchinguizKhan jusqu'à Timur Bey ou Tamerlan" (The History of the Mongols from Genghis Khan to Timur Bey, or Tamerlan), commonly known as "Dawson's History of the Mongols", 4 volumes, 1834-35. It is a precise work that makes full use of more than 20 basic historical materials in over 10 languages, including Arabic, Persian, Turkish, and Syriac, and is still in use today, with clearly quoted sources. Also well known are The Peoples of the Caucasus, the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea in the Tenth Century, or A Voyage of Abouel-Cassim (The Peoples of the Caucasus and the Black Sea and the People of the Caspian Sea in the ^Tenth Century, or A Voyage of Abouel-Cassim) (28).

[Died] May 25, 1970, Budleigh Salterton British philosopher of religion, historian of religion, and critic of civilization. After graduating from Oxford University, he converted to Catholicism in 1914. Based on the idea that religion is the spiritual foundation of society and the individual, he studied issues on the boundary between sociology and philosophy of religion, particularly the role of religious things in European civilization. He also criticized modernity, arguing that the secularization of religion due to the idea of progress was the cause of Europe's decline. His main works include Progress and Religion (1929), The Making of Europe (32), and Religion and the Modern State (35).

A town in the Yukon Territory, Canada. It is located on a long, narrow plateau along the Yukon River at the confluence of the Yukon and Klondike rivers. It is at a high latitude of 64° north, and is almost always sunny in the second half of June. The average temperature in January is -29°C, and in July it is bitterly cold, with an average temperature of 16°C. At the height of the gold rush in the late 19th century, the population numbered 30,000, but since 1921 it has fallen to less than 1,000. It was the capital of the Yukon Territory from 1898 to 1953, but was later moved to Whitehorse in the south. Gold mining ended in 1966. A detachment of the Canadian Mounted Police is based here. Population 972 (1991).

カナダ，ユーコン准州の町。ユーコン川とクロンダイク川の合流点のユーコン川沿いの細長い台地にある。北緯 64°という高緯度にあり，6月後半はほとんど終日明るい。1月の平均気温－29℃，7月平均気温 16℃で厳寒。 19世紀後半のゴールド・ラッシュ最盛期には人口3万を数えたが，1921年以降は 1000人以下となった。 1898～1953年ユーコン准州の州都であったが，以後南部のホワイトホースに移った。金採掘は 66年に終了。カナダ騎馬警察隊の分遣隊がおかれる。人口 972 (1991) 。
