A town in Kanzaki County, central Hyogo Prefecture, occupying the mountainous area in the middle reaches of the Ichikawa River. The main settlement has developed in the lowlands of the river valley, and is served by the Bantan Line and National Route 312. Konjac and frozen tofu are local specialties, and the town also practices dairy farming, rice and wheat cultivation. Kasagata Shrine is located at the top of Kasagata Mountain in the northeast, and traditional lion dancing is performed in Amaji. 82.67 km2 . Population: 13,288 (2010).
