Yuhei Ito - Ito Suketaka

A feudal lord in the Azuchi-Momoyama period. Second son of Yoshisuke. First named Sukeyasu. Rokurogoro. Minister of the Ministry of the People and Bungo no Kami. Around 1568 (Eiroku 11), when his father Yoshisuke was at the height of his power, he became the lord of Hyuga Obi Castle (Nichinan City), but he was oppressed by the invasion of the Shimazu clan, and in 1577 (Tensho 5), he and his father fled to Bungo, relying on the Otomo clan. In November of the following year, after the defeat at Mimikawa, he was exiled to Iyo. In the same year, he served Toyotomi Hideyoshi and was given 500 koku of land in Handa Village, Kawachi, and accompanied Kuroda Takataka as a guide during his invasion of Kyushu. He was given Miyazaki and various prefectures, and in August of the same year, he regained his former territory of 36,000 koku in the Obi region. He also participated in the Bunroku-Keicho War. He fought on the eastern side (Tokugawa Ieyasu's side) in the Battle of Sekigahara, but fell ill in Osaka and died.

安土桃山時代の大名。義祐の次男。初名祐隆。六郎五郎。民部大輔,豊後守。父義祐の全盛期であった永禄11(1568)年ごろ日向飫肥城(日南市)城主となったが,島津氏の侵出により圧迫され,天正5(1577)年には父と共に大友氏を頼って豊後に亡命。翌年11月の耳川の敗戦で伊予に流寓した。同10年豊臣秀吉に仕えて河内半田村500石を領し,その九州攻めに際しては黒田孝高に従って案内役を務めた。宮崎,諸県を与えられ,同16年8月には飫肥地方の旧領3万6000石を回復。文禄・慶長の役にも従軍した。関ケ原の戦では東軍(徳川家康方)に属したが,大坂で発病し死去。
