Toki Yasuyuki

Year of birth: Year of birth unknown. Military commander during the Nanboku-cho period. Shugo of Mino Province (Gifu Prefecture) and Ise Province (Mie Prefecture). Samanosuke, Daizen-no-tayu. His original name was Yoshiyuki. Son of Toki Ibi Yoriki, and adopted heir of Yoriyasu. After Yoriyasu's death in 1387 (Kakei 1/Genchu 4), he inherited the titles of Shugo of the three provinces of Mino, Owari, and Ise, but the following year his younger brother Toki Shimada Mitsusada was appointed Shugo of Owari, which led to the so-called Toki Yasuyuki Rebellion against the Muromachi shogunate. In March of the leap year of the 7th year of the Genchu period (Meitoku 1/Genchu 7), Kojima Castle in Ikeda County, Mino, the last stronghold of resistance, fell and Toki fell into ruin, but the following year Yamana Ujikiyo distinguished himself in the Meitoku Rebellion against the shogunate, and only the title of Shugo of Ise was restored. After that, the title of Shugo of Ise was intermittently inherited by Yasuyuki's lineage.

南北朝時代の武将。美濃国(岐阜県)・伊勢国(三重県)守護。左馬助,大膳大夫。初名は義行。土岐揖斐頼雄の子,頼康の養嗣子。嘉慶1/元中4(1387)年の頼康の没後,美濃・尾張・伊勢3カ国守護を継承したが,翌年弟の土岐島田満貞が尾張守護に補任されたことから,室町幕府に対し,いわゆる土岐康行の乱を起こす。明徳1/元中7年閏3月,最後の抵抗拠点,美濃池田郡小島城が陥落して没落するが,翌年の山名氏清が幕府に反した明徳の乱で戦功を挙げ,伊勢守護のみ還補。以後,伊勢守護は康行の系統が断続的に継承した。
