A curve that shows the possibility of technological substitution between two types of inputs to produce a certain output among the technologies possessed by a certain company or economy. It is also called an isoquant or isooutput curve. For example, there are various combinations of labor and the amount of agricultural machinery required to produce 100 tons of wheat, even if other inputs (land, fertilizer, etc.) are held constant. The trajectory of these combinations is an isoquant, and the shape of the isoquant changes if the production volume or the amount of other inputs changes.
