Kamikawa [town] - Kamikawa
A town in Kamikawa District, central Hokkaido. It occupies the mountainous area upstream of the Ishikari River, and the southern part belongs to Daisetsuzan National Park, with Mount Daisetsu, Sounkyo Gorge, and Aizankei Onsen. The Sekihoku Main Line and the Daisetsu National Highway, which connects Asahikawa and Kitami, run through the town. In addition to rice and dairy farming, freshwater fish farming and forestry are also carried out. Area: 1049.47 km2 . Population: 4532 (2010).
