Manzanillo (English spelling)
A city in the western part of Colima state in southwestern Mexico. It is a port city facing the Pacific Ocean, located about 200 km south-southwest of Guadalajara, between Manzanillo Bay and Cuyutlan Lagoon. It is the commercial and industrial center of the agricultural, forestry and fishing region stretching from Colima to Jalisco, and as its main port, it ships copra, corn, bananas, lemons, fish, minerals, lumber, wine, canned goods, and more. It has a beautiful beach, and trolling can be enjoyed off the coast, so it is also developing as a seaside resort. Railroads and roads connect the city to Guadalajara. Population: 92,168 (1990 estimate).

A city in southeastern Cuba. It is a port city located at the head of Guacanayabo Bay, in the southern part of the marshes that spread along the lower reaches of the Kaut River. It was founded in 1784. It is the center of a rich agricultural region, and is the center of the distribution of sugar cane, tobacco, fruit, rice, and livestock. It has industries such as sugar refining, lumber, leather, canned goods, and cigars. The port mainly ships sugar, tobacco, and hardwood. There are zinc and copper deposits nearby. It is located about 150 km west-northwest of Santiago de Cuba, and is connected by rail and road. It also has an airport. Population: 106,683 (1989 estimate).
