A city in the western part of Colima state in southwestern Mexico. It is a port city facing the Pacific Ocean, located about 200 km south-southwest of Guadalajara, between Manzanillo Bay and Cuyutlan Lagoon. It is the commercial and industrial center of the agricultural, forestry and fishing region stretching from Colima to Jalisco, and as its main port, it ships copra, corn, bananas, lemons, fish, minerals, lumber, wine, canned goods, and more. It has a beautiful beach, and trolling can be enjoyed off the coast, so it is also developing as a seaside resort. Railroads and roads connect the city to Guadalajara.
