1863‐1939 A modern Iranian cultural and educational activist, poet, and writer. Born in the village of Doulatabad on the outskirts of Isfahan to an Azari Babi family, he studied in Najaf and Mashhad before devoting himself to educational enlightenment activities in Tehran. He founded the first new method school, the Sadat Academy. He served as a member of Kerman Province in the second parliament of the Iranian constitutional revolution period, the fifth parliament in 1924-25. His autobiography, Tārīkh‐e Mo'āṣer (also known as Yahya's Life), is a valuable primary source for modern and contemporary Iranian history, with a focus on the history of the constitutional revolution.
