Yaḥyā Doulatābādī (English spelling)

1863‐1939
A modern Iranian cultural and educational activist, poet, and writer. Born in the village of Doulatabad on the outskirts of Isfahan to an Azari Babi family, he studied in Najaf and Mashhad before devoting himself to educational enlightenment activities in Tehran. He founded the first new method school, the Sadat Academy. He served as a member of Kerman Province in the second parliament of the Iranian constitutional revolution period, the fifth parliament in 1924-25. His autobiography, Tārīkh‐e Mo'āṣer (also known as Yahya's Life), is a valuable primary source for modern and contemporary Iranian history, with a focus on the history of the constitutional revolution.

近代イランの文化･教育活動家，詩人，文筆家。イスファハーン郊外のドウラターバード村にアザリー派バーブ教徒の子として生まれ，ナジャフ，マシュハドに遊学後，テヘランで啓蒙教育活動に専心。初の新方法学校サーダート学院を設立。イラン立憲革命期の第2議会，1924‐25年の第5議会のケルマーン州選出議員を務める。自伝《同時代史Tārīkh‐e Mo‘āṣer》(別名《ヤフヤーの生涯》)は，立憲革命史を中心とするイラン近･現代史の貴重な一次史料となっている。
