Toshichi [Hot Springs] - Toshichi

Japanese: 藤七[温泉] - とうしち

This hot spring is located in Matsuo Village, Iwate County, in the northwest of Iwate Prefecture. It is located at an altitude of 1,400m, about 3km south of the summit of Hachimantai, and now that the Hachimantai Road (Asupite Line) passes through, it is a base for exploring Hachimantai and skiing. The spring water is a simple hydrogen sulfide spring with a temperature of 91°C. Two lodgings are closed in winter. It is about 30km from the Matsuo Hachimantai Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway, and about 1 hour and 20 minutes by bus from Obuke Station on the JR Hanawa Line. [Tanizawa Akira]
