Eastern Nine Tombs (English: Tonggunǔng)

Japanese: 東九陵 - とうきゅうりょう（英語表記）Tonggunǔng

Located in the vast hills of Inchang-ri, Guri-myeon, Yangju-gun, Gyeonggi-do, Korea, Donggureung is one of the many royal tombs built around Hanseong (now Seoul), the capital of the Joseon Dynasty. It is located about 14 km east of the royal palace. The Donggureungs consist of 9 tombs and 17 royal tombs, starting with King Taejo's Gonwonreung in 1408, followed by the Hyeonreung of King Munjong and his consort Queen Hyeondeok, the Mokreung of King Seonjo, his consort Queen Uiin, and his successor Queen Inmok, the Sungrung of King Hyeonjong and his consort Queen Myeongseong, the Huireung of King Injo's successor Queen Jangryeol, the Hyereung of King Gyeongjong's consort Queen Danui, the Wonreung of King Yeongjo and his consort Queen Jeongsun, the Gyeongreung of King Heonjong, his consort Queen Hyohyeon, and his successor Queen Hyojeong, and the Suireung of King Munjo (Crown Prince Hyomyeong) and his consort Empress Sinjeongik in 1855.

韓国，京畿道楊州郡九里面仁倉里の広大な丘陵地にあり，李朝時代に首都の漢城(現，ソウル)近郊に多く造営された王陵群の一つ。王宮からは東方に約14kmのところに位置する。東九陵は，1408年の太祖の健元陵に始まり，文宗･同妃顕徳王后の顕陵，宣祖･同妃懿仁王后･継妃仁穆王后の穆陵，顕宗･同妃明聖王后の崇陵，仁祖継妃荘烈王后の徽陵，景宗妃端懿王后の恵陵，英祖･同継妃貞純王后の元陵，憲宗･同妃孝顕王后･継妃孝定王后の景陵，そして1855年の文祖翼皇帝(孝明世子)･同妃神定翼皇后の綏陵まで，9陵17位の王と后妃の陵墓からなっている。
